Anyways, on to my life, because that’s what we’re all here for right. I’m up in Homer, Alaska… finally. For those of you that have followed my previous months through other means you might remember that I had all these adventures planned. I was starting in Clark for ten days or so then off to climb the Grand Teton, then up to Yellowstone to run with the wild bison. From there I was going up to Big Sky & Bozeman, Montana where I would stay with a fellow Home Ranch alumni Anna Rudolophi for a few days before embarking on an epic camping trip with my dog. After enjoying the mountains for five days I was going to come back and stay with my high school friend Lee Arnold for the second weekend in Bozeman. After that I was heading to a cabin my friend lives in near Glacier National Park. I would stay in that area for about a week then head up to Banff National Park in Canada. I was planning on doing at least ten days of camping, climbing, and hiking up there before pushing on north. I was considering a fishing trip with my friend Ryan Hayes, a fellow teacher in Bethel last year- the only other person in their 20’s I knew (besides that damn Miss Weio). And from there I was going to make tracks into Alaska and have plenty of time to settle down and find a place to live. It would be easy though, because I had all my gear and supplies packed into the grocery getter and could basically live out of there for an extended period of time. But, that all kinda fell through. How, you ask? Well, she goes by the name of Sarah.

Started hanging out with her in just the nick of time before I made tracks out of Colorado. I postponed my move about five different times. The last time came when I made it to Bozeman, but in the true form of a Hollywood romance, I turned that car around.

Instead of driving, I ended up flying up with two suitcases- not a car full. Did I have a place to live? No. Did I bring my blanket/comforter? No. Did I have even a fork or spoon? Not so much. How about my dvd’s? Of course… how could I not pack those- you know with that DVD player and TV I brought those are sure a necessity.
Thanks to the good graces of my roommate last year- Joel, I have a truck to use while I am here. Also, thanks to the good graces of God, I called the first ad I saw in the classifieds and it ended up being this amazing cabin a short hike from my school that used to be a $200/night bed and breakfast and now is a $600/month rental. As you might be able to guess, I took it. The way I look at it, I pay for the 1st three nights and the rest of the month is free.

The first couple of days were sort of tough, trying to transition and get settled. Now though, I have this incredible place, I have started working (no kids yet- they start the 20th), and I bought a Nintendo from the thrift store today. So if any of you have any old games you should send them on up to me. Being I live in an amazing place with incredible art I will definitely hit you up with something great if you do. Also, I would like to extend an open invitation for anyone to come on up and visit. I have a loft and a futon and a ton of room for sleeping bags on the floor. And a dog that you can take care of for me.
For those of you that don't know- I got a Brittany Spaniel from the shelter right when I got back from Bethel last year and named him "Zirkel".
I just got a new mailing address:
4228 Mariner Dr.
Homer, AK 99603
And a new phone number:
(907) 299-3988
I am also going to get a routine down to my postings. Likely every Sunday and Wednesday/Thursday. I know it can get annoying when I post four times one week and not at all the next. This will be a quick one as I am about to make some fresh salsa, chips, and IPA and enjoy the rest of my evening.

Welcome back, we've missed you. I really mean that too. Your cabin looks ausome, hope we can find a way to get up to see it. Nine days 'till the BIG day, and my cell's not even counting them down. Please post a few pixs of the week-end, I want to see how your holding up. A few of Sarah and Zirkel too. Have fun, love gee.
