60 Degrees in a Week

Just a week ago, I regretted not wearing the huge snow pants to school. Granted it is only a two minute walk to school, but I really froze. To the point where I started mumbling curse words and doing "the skip" just to make it. The kids almost had to stay in during recess because it was too cold. On the mercury stick, it was -12 when I walked to school and -8 at noon, both with the wind chill.

For the last two days I have played basketball in my t-shirt. Even now at 9:00 it is still 45 degrees. There's no wind either, which is great (I hate wind, especially after it conspired the plot to make me suffer another day in Anchorage Sunday.) It is really, really muddy out there though. My class took a walk to the river for Earth Day today and everyone was shins deep in mud... well, not everyone; some were smart enough to wear their rubber boots.

Now I considered getting into the global warming debate here, putting my two cents in. It is my blog, damnit! But, I am low enough on readers and don't want to tick anyone off and lose them.

The sun is also peeking its head quite a bit more. It has been blue skies a decent amount the last couple days. The sun is up around 7 and goes down close to 11. Long days, for sure. I haven't gotten accustomed to them yet.

OH! And Benny Boy! Congrats. Bumper sticker for you my friend. The answer was D, Bush Pilots Barber Shop. Good try, Emily- I like where your head's at. I'm ashamed of you Sharon & Sarah. Giving up already. Maybe I will just take back that promise for a sticker and make you earn one. You could've had this one! Send me your address Benny and I will mail one out to you. (Although I really shouldn't being you didn't call me back this weekend.)

Anyways, Happy Earth Day Ya'll. Take care of Her.
