So I was wearing my khaki cords that I have had for three or four years (these are the same ones I baked in an oven last year, so they were already in less than perfect condition). I was doing a bunch of setting up at my school putting things and taking things down. Anyways, During one stretch I heard that dreaded sound. Looks like I'm down to four pair of wearable pants for school. Now in the 35 degree heat that MN has been getting this wouldn't have been a problem. But, it was close to 20 below tonight witch some wind blowing. It was a pretty cold walk home.
Anyways, just a few things before I hit the hay. I watched that bearded, Deliverance-esque, flannel shirt wearing, backwoods "comedian" on tv last night. You know, the one you see on Saturday nights when you are trying to find something on and he somehow has a program on PBS. Anyways, I watched that entire program and I'll tell you what, I might have even chuckled to myself once or twice. The thing of it is, that was the best and worst program I could have watched last night. We have two tv channels. Sometimes they play the same shows, sometimes different. Apparently the country bumpkin is in high enough demand that they play him on both.
Oh and for all the future teachers out there- setting up desks is damn hard. I drew pictures, analyzed them, made diagrams, stared at them for a while, started moving them, and then eventually, just set them up like a teacher I used to work with. And that's how I spent yesterday...
